About the club
Recreatie-T.C. Buizingen is a small, family-oriented summer club that was founded in 1985 when its founder converted his private garden in Buizingen into a tennis club, with courts made of crushed brick, a terrace, and a converted garage serving as the clubhouse. Youth is central to the club's activities: series of lessons and training sessions for children form the common thread. In 1994, Tennis Vlaanderen recognised the club as a training placement for future initiators and coaches, and the club counted 171 registered members at the time; since then, that number has hovered around 100.
The courts are situated in a quiet, green environment and are accessible via a footpath alongside Community Centre Ommekaar, with a ramp for bicycles. After each winter break, the courts are relaid by hand. Court reservations are made online via the Tennis Vlaanderen website or app, using the membership number as a login.
