Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about GameSetMatch. Can't find your answer? Drop me a line, I reply within 48 business hours.

Account & profile

Do I need an account to use GameSetMatch?
No. Player profiles, rankings, clubs, tournaments, interclubs and reviews are all freely available to read. You only need an account to link a player profile to yours, follow players, clubs or tournaments, receive alerts, post on a club's forum, send a private message or leave a review.
How do I create an account?
Click Create my account in the navigation bar. Enter your name, email and a password, then confirm your address via the email you receive. You can also sign up in one click with Google or Facebook.
My player profile already exists. How do I link it to my account?
Everything happens in your dashboard, under My profiles. If a player matching your name has been detected, an Is this you? block suggests it to you directly: click Link this profile. Otherwise, click Link a profile, search for your name, select your profile, explain why it's really you and submit your request. I review every request manually. You can track your requests in My links.
How do I change my personal information or password?
From the user menu, go to My account. There you can update your name, email, WhatsApp number, address and password, and review your account stats (linked profiles, follows, active alerts).
How do I change the photo, bio or cover of a player profile I've linked?
Go to My profiles, open the relevant profile and click Edit profile. You can change the profile picture, cover picture, bio and your links.
How do I delete my account?
Go to My account, scroll down to the Danger zone and click Delete my account. Confirm with your password. All your personal data (email, password, photo, bio, messages, alerts) is permanently erased.

Clubs & players

Which clubs and players are listed?
Every club and player affiliated with Belgian tennis, regardless of federation, language or region. If a club or a player is missing, let me know via the contact form.
My ranking is out of date, what should I do?
Rankings are synced with official sources every time they're published. If your official ranking has changed for several days but not on the site, report it via the contact page by selecting Incorrect data?.
Why does the ranking shown in interclubs differ from a player's current ranking?
In Belgium, interclubs are played using the ranking frozen before the May ranking change. That season ranking is what's displayed next to a player's name in an interclubs meeting: it stays frozen for the whole interclubs season, even if the official ranking moves afterwards. On the player profile, by contrast, the most recent ranking is always shown.
A piece of data on a profile is wrong, how can I get it fixed?
Use the contact form and pick Incorrect data?. Specify which profile is affected and what should be corrected. Official sports data stays managed by the federations at the source.

Tournaments & interclubs

Which tournaments appear on the site?
Every tournament pulled from the official Belgian federation sources. You can find them in the Tournaments section of the navigation, with draws and results updated as organisers publish them.
Where can I find interclubs?
Interclubs aren't in the Tournaments section, they have their own area. You can find them on a club profile, under the Interclubs tab (teams, schedule, results), and on a player profile, in the Interclubs matches section. Click on a meeting to see the detail: individual matches, scores, season ranking next to each player.
How do I leave a review on a club or tournament?
You can only review a tournament you took part in or a club where you've played (your own club, a club that hosted a tournament you took part in, or a club where you played an away interclubs match). At least one player profile must be linked to your account. Two ways to leave a review: from the club or tournament page, click Give my review, or from your dashboard, head to My reviews where you'll find the list of entities you can review along with all your published reviews. After an interclubs match at a club you're visiting, you also receive a Give my review email, once per season per club at most.

Forum

Who can access a club's forum?
A club's forum is restricted to its members, both for reading and posting. To access it, you need a player profile linked to your account that belongs to the club. Site staff and assigned club moderators also have access.
How do I report an inappropriate message?
On every forum message, a Report button is available. State the reason for the report in the dedicated field. In accordance with the Digital Services Act, reports are processed as quickly as possible, and as a rule within seven (7) business days.

Follows, alerts & messaging

How do I follow a player, club or tournament?
On the relevant page, click Follow. You can then find all your follows under My follows in your dashboard.
How do I get notified when my favourites move?
Set up an alert from My alerts in your dashboard, or via the Create alert button. Choose what you want to follow (player, club or tournament), the event type (new results, ranking change, new club tournament, registrations open), the channel (email or WhatsApp, after verifying your number in your profile), and the frequency (Every hour for hourly checks or Every day for a daily digest).
How do I message another player?
From your dashboard, go to My messages and click New conversation. Pick the player to contact and the conversation starts in the site's internal messaging. For a coach, a Contact the coach button is also available directly on their profile.

Data & privacy

Where does the data shown on the site come from?
Results, rankings and calendars come from the official public sources of the Belgian federations, processed on the basis of the legitimate interest in informing the Belgian tennis community. Reviews, profile photos, bios, messages, forum posts and reactions are produced by registered users.
How do I exercise my GDPR rights?
To delete your account and personal data, go to My account → Danger zone → Delete my account. For any other GDPR request (access, rectification, portability, objection), write to me via the contact form. Public sports results are managed by the federations and remain at the source.
