About the club
TC Ertvelde was founded in 1964, on the initiative of mayor Jozef Van Steenberge and doctor Nachtegaele. Brouwerij Van Steenberge, which bears the founder's name, is still one of the main sponsors today. The club is affiliated with Tennis Vlaanderen and has approximately 160 members. TC Ertvelde focuses primarily on recreational players and is one of the most affordable clubs in the region. Operations rely entirely on volunteers, including through a rotation system for activities and bar duties. The club premises were renovated by those same volunteers, with renewed changing rooms and sanitary facilities.
Regular club activities include Ladies' Night on Tuesday, Men's Night on Thursday, Aperitif Tennis on Sunday mornings and a mixed evening on the first Tuesday of every month. In addition, the club organises two open tournaments per year: a doubles criterion in May and a singles criterion in August. Members receive an access code for the courts, with no obligation to reserve well in advance.
