Royal Heusy Tennis Club

Founded in 1925 on the initiative of Georges Ruhl, Edouard Zustrassen and Louis Domken, the Royal Heusy Tennis Club has built up a record and a history that set it apart over the decades. Geneviève Domken, who came from the club, won the Wimbledon junior tournament and regularly represented Belgium at national level. The club also welcomed international players such as the Spaniards Orantes and Munoz and the Englishman Battrick, and saw Patrick Hombergen and Bernard Mignot represent Belgium's colours in the Davis Cup. Since 2008, the members and the non-profit association have become owners of the club through a cooperative society, with the long-term future of the site guaranteed by a thirty-year lease. Each year, the families tournament, created in 1999, is one of the club's regular fixtures.
