About the club

Founded in 1893 and established since 1901 in Parc Brugmann, the Royal Léopold Club is one of the oldest tennis and hockey clubs in Belgium. It owes its name to King Leopold II, chosen by Captain Reyntiens, an aide-de-camp to the sovereign and one of the founders. The club is a co-founder of the CTC (Centenary Tennis Club) and organises the Gillion Open every year, a five-star ladies' and men's tournament held in two editions.

With nearly 2,800 members practising tennis, hockey, padel and bridge, almost half of whom are under 18, the club places great importance on training: the tennis, hockey and padel schools each welcome more than 600 students, through group lessons, private coaching and holiday camps. The club is furthermore the most decorated in the country in hockey and boasts the highest number of Belgian champions in tennis.
