TC De Wilge

About the club

TC De Wilge was founded in 1979 on the initiative of Carine and François, during a general meeting of a club in Tielt. The club is located on a former farmstead belonging to the Maes family on the Klijtmolenstraat in Egem (Pittem) and is affiliated with Tennis Vlaanderen with membership number 230. The official opening took place on 3 June 1979, with a first members' tournament won by Robert De Craemer.

The club organises the TC De Wilge Open every summer, featuring a singles and doubles tournament, and a youth camp with a hot lunch. For lessons, it works exclusively with qualified instructors, for Start2Tennis (adult beginners), Teenagers & Adults and Kids Tennis (4 to 12 years old). The season runs annually from 1 April to 30 September, with regular dinner evenings on Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, and themed events during tournament weeks.
