Tennis Wallonie-Bruxelles and Tennis Vlaanderen: how is Belgian tennis organised?
Belgian tennis is organised by two federations: Tennis Wallonie-Bruxelles for French-speaking clubs (Wallonia and Brussels) and Tennis Vlaanderen for Flemish clubs. United under Tennis Belgium, they now share the same ranking system, but each keeps its own competitions and platform.

Why two federations?
Like many sports in Belgium, tennis is organised at community level. Your club is affiliated to one of the two federations depending on its location, and you are affiliated through your club: Walloon and Brussels clubs generally belong to Tennis Wallonie-Bruxelles, Flemish clubs to Tennis Vlaanderen.
A ranking that is now shared
Since the ranking reform, both federations apply the same regulations: a single points ladder (from 3 to 115 points for adults), two calculations per year (May and October) and the same points rules. A Flemish 30 points and a French-speaking 30 points have exactly the same value, which makes rankings directly comparable across the country.
What differs between the two
Each federation organises its own tournaments, criteriums and interclub, with its own calendar. Registrations go through two separate platforms, each with its own account and membership number. Official information is published in French on one side and in Dutch on the other.
Can you play anywhere in Belgium?
Yes. Tournaments are open to Belgian players affiliated to a club of either federation: a player affiliated on the French-speaking side can play a tournament in Flanders and vice versa. Only regional criterium points remain reserved for members of the organising federation.
