How do you register for a tennis tournament in Belgium?

Registering for a tournament in Belgium happens entirely online, on the platform of the federation organising the tournament (Tennis Wallonie-Bruxelles or Tennis Vlaanderen). The key thing to remember: registrations open about 4 weeks before the tournament and close on the Tuesday before it starts.

Where do you find tournaments?

GameSetMatch gathers the tournaments of both federations on a single page: calendar, map, dates and categories, with dedicated pages per province and per city. You can also browse each federation's official calendar (links at the bottom of this guide).

When do you register?

For Tennis Wallonie-Bruxelles tournaments, registrations open on Monday at 8 pm, 4 weeks before the official start date of the competition. They close on the Tuesday before that date, at 8 pm: after that, no more registrations are possible.

You can withdraw until the Monday before the tournament starts, and adjust your availability until the Tuesday. Draws are published at the latest on the Wednesday before the official start, by midnight.

For Tennis Vlaanderen tournaments, registration deadlines are shown on each tournament's page on the federation's platform.

With your ranking at the time of registration. Around the calculation periods (May and October), ongoing tournaments are still played with the old ranking. Example for 2026: until Tuesday 26 May, you register for tournaments ending on Sunday 7 June with the October 2025 rankings; from Wednesday 27 May, later tournaments are played with the May 2026 rankings.

Tournaments and the regional criterium

On the French-speaking side, every tournament category (outside specific junior circuits) counts towards the criterium of the organising club's region. The criterium is open to all Belgian players affiliated to a club of either federation, but only Tennis Wallonie-Bruxelles members score points in it.

What happens with a walkover (WO)?

A walkover is considered unexcused by default and sanctioned with 5 penalty points on the code of conduct, unless you send a supporting document (medical certificate, official attestation) to your regional secretariat within 5 days after the scheduled end of the tournament. The first 2 excused walkovers within 12 months are not sanctioned. At 10 penalty points, an automatic 15-day suspension applies.
